Help, I hate sales prospecting, cold calling, and door knocking

by Chezza

I love selling, being in front of buyers, and giving a big presentation. What I hate is sales prospecting and door knocking. I am not motivated to do it, I can't get motivated to do it, and I don't want to do it. Can anyone give me any prospecting tips to get me fired up about lead generation.

I honestly feel it's beneath me. I'm a salesman, a good one, and I hit targets when I can get to see buyers. Not having enough leads, hot, warm, or cold, is holding me back. I know I've got to do something about it.

Does anyone else out there feel the same? Have you been where I am now and done something about it that worked? I will be very grateful for any suggestions on how to prospect and enjoy it.

Sales prospecting has to be done. Without it you will not have a list of prospects to qualify as potential customers and convert into sales appointments.

I would like to offer 2 pieces of advice:

1. Set yourself some goals for bringing in sales prospects.

Start by going to Sales Prospecting formulas. There you will see how to calculate just how many prospects you need to bring in and how many sales appointments you need to achieve your target.

2. Build some actions into your daily routine

Don't try and do too much at once. Add one or two actions to your daily routine that will generate sales prospects for you to follow up.

There are some actions that you can delegate to other people and you only need to oversee the running of them.

Start by getting some help at Sales Prospecting tips on actions to generate sales leads.
