Sales Appointment Cold Calling Test

How do you know your sales appointment calls are as good as they could be?

Many sales people put together a cold calling script for appointment calls and then use it forever without testing it or improving it. The only measurement they consider is how many appointments prospects are agreeing to.

This isn’t always the best measurement. Yes, you can see when results drop, but how do you know that’s because of your call. There are many other factors that impact on results. Some of them, such as your tone, words, and voice on a call are within your control.

Others, such as market trends, economic environment, and seasonal variations, are outside of your control. So you need a way to test your appointment setting cold calls against a standard benchmark and make sure it’s a really effective cold call script that you are using.


The Appointment Call Effectiveness Test –How it works

There is a simple to use test for all sales and sales appointment scripts that I have adapted for cold calls.

It focuses on your reason for calling the sales prospect. It tests its effectiveness and gives you an indication of whether it can be improved. You repeat the test until you get to a point where your reason for calling the customer to arrange an appointment cannot be improved upon any further.

This is when you know you have a really effective call that will work on cold call appointment making. This is when you know you have a call script that will fill your diary with sales opportunities.
