Back in the days when I started in Direct Sales this was drummed into us repeatedly by managers.
The ABC of sales is to Always Be Closing.
There was a daily early morning meeting before we hit the streets and this was the mantra: ABC - Alaways Be Closing.
We were shown how to attack every opportunity to gain agreement from the customers by twisting around their words.
It sounds ridiculous now. I don't know how we got away wih it. Every time a customer asked a question we turned it into a closing question.
Always Be Closing was the quote I remember most but a more subtle approach is required nowadays.
